Had a lovely conversation with our oldest granddaughter MacKenzie today. She's discovered our blog and so here are some pictures of her.

We kissed the blarney stone

this little leprechaun wants food with some class

and this little leprechaun wants to know "where's the gas"

this little munchkin from Germany he roamed

and this little munchkin made Canada her home

with a pot full of shamrocks and not much gold
they married in the Windsor Ward - so the storys' told

With an old yellow truck that wasn't very pretty, they married in the temple in Salt Lake City.

With a little bit of luck, and choices that are clever,
we plan to be together forever and ever

Love is in the Air

church assignments are finished - so off we go with a picnic basket for dinner and Valentine's Day breakfast at the lake. Here is Uncle Pete getting ready to cook dinner for you know who. : )

The morning sun illuminating the cupboards
We really enjoyed our Valentine's Day at the lake house. We hope yours was wonderful too.

Juicy Goose-y

Not too much to blog about this week - our Friday night date was fun but Saturday night was a blast. The Leamington family gets together every six weeks or so and tonight Marlene hosted us. She cooked a great goose with roast apples and gravy. Tante Fietsch brought red cabbage, apple sauce and an apple pie for dessert. I brought the mashed potatoes and green beans done with garlic, slivered almonds and lemon zest.

Two sad fans

I'm not sure what wore them out - the pizza, the popcorn or the game

Something squirrely about this house

be grateful for mice - look at the varmint we caught in our attic. We knew something was up there so we set a trap and this is what we got. Anyone like to try my squirrel stew?

can spring be that far away when the geese are pushing the ice out of Lake Erie?

Birthday # 60

Today, February 1, 2011 is Pete's 60th birthday. This may not seem like a milestone to many, but to him it is a really BIG deal. Some family members gathered at Jose's Noodle Factory to celebrate the grand event.

This is Pete's aunt - Tante Fietsch

and was it good

On top of that, a wonderful cheesecake was delivered to our house yesterday, ostensibly to prepare us for the upcoming snowstorm but we know better.
